How to Adjust Our Hands-Free Dog Leash

Our Hands-Free Dog Leash is proudly handmade in Australia from premium equestrian rope. It’s strong, reliable, and designed especially for reactive and energetic dogs. What makes it truly special is that it can be worn three different ways:

  1. Hands-free across your body.
  2. As a regular 1.5m handheld leash for close control.
  3. As a longer 2.6m handheld leash when your dog needs more space.

This one leash adapts to whatever kind of walk you’re having — training, sniff walks, or adventures outdoors.

Wear it Hands-Free

When your leash arrives, it’s pre-set to its shortest length (1.5m). This usually fits comfortably as a hands-free leash across your shoulder straight out of the package.

  • If it feels too snug, simply slide the adjuster down toward the end of the rope to make the loop bigger.

Adjusting the Leash Length

Want to give your dog a little more freedom? Here’s how to extend the leash from 1.5m up to 2.6m:

  1. Find the knotted end of the rope.
  2. Pull it up through the rope adjuster.
  3. Then, pull the carabiner side of the leash down through the adjuster to extend it.
  4. Use the rope guide to keep everything neat so there’s no dangling slack.

Now you’ve got a longer, flexible leash that gives your dog more space without losing control.

Going Fully Hands-Free

Once you’ve got the loop sitting where you like it (around your body):

  • Clip the carabiner onto the O-ring.
  • That’s it — you’re completely hands-free.

Perfect for training with treats, picking up poop, playing fetch, or just enjoying the scenery without juggling the leash.
